Join us September 23 at 8:30 am as Hanawalt and DMPS thanks Supervisor Connolly for her dedication and Polk County’s hard work and support in the construction of the new track. One of Mr. B’s PE classes will do a demonstration. We are excited that Supervisor Connolly, Superintendent Ahart, and the local media can join us.
Did you know Hanawalt earns 10¢ for each Box Top for Education that is turned in? That money can add up quickly! To acknowledge the great work everyone is doing, the classroom that brings in the most Box Tops monthly gets custody of our Hanawalt Hawk mascot in their room for a month. The top student in each class will be recognized in the newsletter and will be placed in a raffle for prizes including books, art sets, and flash drives, among other prizes. The top class of the semester will get to name the Hanawalt Hawk!
Get your first round of box tops in by September 20 for the drawing; simply place them in an envelope or baggie and write the student’s and teacher’s names, number of box tops and drop it in the PTA mailbox. Ask your neighbors, friends, grandparents…anyone you can think of to save them for you – it doesn’t take much time, and your school earns money!
Soup season is coming up, so don’t forget to save those Campbell’s labels, too!
